This work is part of a series on the culture of Armenia and Georgia, countries I have never visited.

In this painting, I delve into the ethereal space between reality and the subconscious. My brushstrokes with acrylic and tempera bring life to a timeless figure—a contemplative shepherd playing flute, in harmonious unity with a gentle sheep. The choice of figurative, surreal, and symbolic elements underlines a metaphysical quest, stirring the soul towards introspection. This artwork is an invitation to embrace serenity and depth, casting an aura of mysticism and tranquility in its surroundings.In this painting, I explored the mystical balance between the earthly and the divine. The wise, old shepherd, floating above a bustling cityscape whilst cradling a lamb, symbolizes guidance and benevolence transcending the chaos below. Using acrylics and tempera, I’ve infused the scene with a dreamlike surrealism, playing with light and shadows to evoke a sense of timeless serenity. This artwork invites reflection on the spiritual guardianship inherent in our lives, encouraging a peaceful coexistence with the modern world.
