Under the Branches of a Willow (#4)

This work is an opportunity to play with the different plans and scales of representation in order to create a metaphorical space out of time. The impetus for its creation often comes from a vague memory of colours, smells, and details of our daily life. The artist’s imagination turns them into a painting.

This is a memory of a magnificent weeping willow growing in front of my window. In the morning, pierced by the sun, it reminded me of China recently visited, this country where willows are so common in nature.

Unfortunately, this willow was cut, but its lights continue to live on this canvas.
