One of the small paintings from my workshop series. Work with Wood as a calm, meditative practice. Wood’s colour, it’s textures, it’s warm surface keep memories about the time when this wood was in the Forest. The cycles of life, the cycles of seasons, the materials which are born and which are recycled, to give life to new worlds. And the tender light of spring on everything, with a white butterfly as a symbol of hope.
The warm colours of this still-life are in harmony. Almost monochrome, they make you feel the warmth of the spring sun in the studio: white, caramel, ochre, sepia, some touches of black for contrast.
