In creating this piece, I wished to blend the boundaries between the mystical and the palpable, capturing the synergy of lovers intertwined with nature under a vibrant persimmon tree. I used acrylic and tempera to evoke a dream-like quality that breathes surrealism and symbolism, playing with naive touches that suggest an innocent yet profound connection. One of the sources of my inspiration is the view of a persimmon tree during a trek. It is one of the most beautiful trees I have ever seen. This work is like a meditative dream. It is like a memory of important moments that everyone has had in their lives. It is about contemplation, about the importance of seeing and hearing our beloved, and about being there for them.
The colouring is constituated with natural pigments: sienna, ochre and umber. The background glows a soft gold, and everything is immersed in a pastel blue mist.
