The Mid-Autumn Festival or Moon Festival is a traditional Chinese festival celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month. The Moon is particularly bright that night, rounder and more beautiful than the rest of the year.
This day is also called “Reunion Day”, because the Chinese consider the full moon as a symbol of family reunion.
The painting evokes the hands of a traveler who left far away from his family. He is handing a cup of green tea where the full moon is reflected.
This wonderful vision reminds him of his loved ones.
