Три морские красавицы (#846)

In this painting, I’ve woven a tapestry of emotions and mythology, blending figurative grace with surreal mystery. Each figure, adorned in vibrant, textured gowns, symbolizes different sea myths, embodying the enigmatic allure and formidable power of the ocean. The choice of acrylic, tempera, and vinyl enhances the ethereal quality, capturing a frozen moment of otherworldly elegance. This artwork invites viewers into a realm where the boundaries between the known and the unknown blur, sparking a sense of wonder and contemplation. This painting is inspired by the great port cities of the Seine: Le Havre, Paris and Rouen. These three cities are part of HAROPA PORT (an acronym made up of the first letters of Le Havre, Rouen and Paris), the large river-sea port of the Seine axis.

Each port is personified by a female allegory in 18th century dress and a Frigate headdress. The accessories and details evoke the identity of each city:
– transatlantic liners for Le Havre
– old map of the city, flower of lily and emblem for Paris
– Grande Armada for Rouen, not forgetting Flaubert who chose this city as the setting for “Madame Bovary”.

This work of art can be hung on the wall or installed on the floor as a screen
Designed and produced for the Paris Maritime exhibition at the Ô Large gallery in Paris.
