Wind in the Sails

This painting is inspired by the artist’s encounters with the crew of an old sailing ship, “Shtandart”. It expresses the feeling of fast movement, freedom and the inner strength one needs to be free. Where is this boat, happily gliding on the waves? From which port did it leave? What discoveries does the wind swelling its sails promise?
The contrast of the navy blue ocean waves with the ivory white of the sky and the white foam sublimate the brown tones of the wood.

This tempera painting on linen canvas measures 38×61 cm. It is stretched on a wooden frame and is ready to hang. It is signed on the front and back. The background is slightly raised. Its texture contributes to the effect of the depth of space.
