It is a piece from the huge collection of my father, a biologist, explorer and traveller. I grew up in a tiny flat in a dormitory neighbourhood, more like a Kunstkammer or a cabinet of curiosities.
It seemed perfectly natural to me ) the backdrop for my childhood games was the collections of molluscs, insects and other fantastic objects my father brought back from his expeditions.
I first drew this dried fish from life and then made an etching.
