Aries (#627)

About the feeling of loneliness in the middle of the crowd, the desire to transform one’s life and the search for one’s true place.
The book was created on the memories of our visits to cousins who live in a mountain village lost between the sky and… the sky. If there is a paradise on earth, then it is there where there are only mountains, olive trees, donkeys and sheep. And a library. One day we got there for New Years Eve, and on January 1, in the cold, under the snow, we saw a branch of almond blossom.

In addition, for years I have dreamed of visiting the Caucasus and especially Georgia and Armenia. This almost strong and irrational feeling is certainly linked to some of my memories. My father went to the Caucasus and Central Asia every year for his research expeditions, and one of the earliest memories of childhood was the way we looked at the slides. Mountain landscapes and flocks of sheep appeared on the wallpaper of our apartment. Later I had an incredible drawing teacher, Zaur Japaridze, who instilled in me the love of Georgia. The discovery of the creation of great Georgian and Armenian artists left a deep impression on me, as did the work of Saryan, Parajanov, Ioseliani, Gabriadze. This book is a small step towards Georgia and Armenia that I hope to explore one day.
