This painting pays tribute to the maritime heritage of two countries: Russia, my country of origin, and France, my country of adoption.
Hermione and Shtandart, two replicas of 18th-century frigates, embody the maritime ambitions of these major European actors. Separated historically and politically, these two frigates are today at the heart of maritime events, beyond all modern tensions and borders.
