My first model tonight. Born in France. He looks like a Soviet intellectual, for some reason. I want to imagine him in a thick, hand-knitted jumper, with a high collar, with a guitar, in a smoky communal kitchen on Vassilievsky Island. Lives in Puteaux. He goes as far as Nation, because it’s an excuse to walk around and have a coffee at the same time. And it is here that he prefers the atmosphere. It is more aggressive at the other distribution points. He dreamed of being a painter when he was young. He lists the names of his favourite painters.
– Russia is above all Kandinsky. There is also Malevitch, of course… Do you know Kandinsky? We agreed that next time he would bring a stool with him, sit next to me, and we would draw together.
Among the beneficiaries, there will be another artist, who will come to show me his drawings. There will also be a poet, Nour, from the Maghreb, who will come to read his prose poems, or rather manifestos, which I find very beautiful. Joëlle tells me that since I’ve been drawing portraits, there are fewer brawls and fights on our site.
The second model. Unsuccessful. He refused when he learned that he would only get a copy of the drawing.
